Modernisation of the Educational Infrastructure on the Territory of the City of Varna

The Municipality of Varna has 92 obejcts of Educational infrastructure. Those are mostly built beginning-middle of last century, on standard projects. Partial or cosmetic repairs without substantial maintenance and reinforcement have been done, which has led to the depreciation of buildings. As a result there has been a deterioration of the natural learning process in an adequate environment. 27 kindergartens have been renovated in the previous programming period. The project proposal aims at increasing the share of renovated and modernized municipal educational infrastructure and creating better conditions for modern education and care for children and youth. This will be achieved through activities for reconstruction of 10 objects of educational infrastructure in the municipality of Varna (included in IP), introduction of energy efficiency measures, repair of yards, creating accessible architectural environment. To guarantee quality and execution of activities planned, contractors will be procured for construction, supervision. Also planned are activities for organisation, supervision publicity and visualisation. After implementation of the project expectations are for 10 fullry renovated objects of total area 44897, replaced windows 3365 sq. m., installed insulation 42050 sq. m., replaced plumbing and electrical installations, provided accessible architectural environment and achieved minimum "C" calss of energy consumption. Target groups are 6822 children and students involved in the educational process, including representatives of ethnic groups - 235, 130 children with special needs, 383 people teaching staff, 131 people administrative and support staff, approximately 13,644 parents, as well as Municipality Varna as object owner. Improved conditions and environment for the effective conduct of the educational processes of adolescents will contribute to the overall objective and based on indicators of PA1 of OPRD.
