Improvement of the Social Infrastructure in Varna

The project proposal is aimed at rennovaton of the social infrastructure in Varna which will improve the quality of social services offered for the population. The intervention object is municipal property - two dormitory 5-storey blocks, A and B, connected through a warm connection - a foyer. Block A holds a Shelter for the Temporary Accommodation of Homeless and Socially Disadvantaged People and on the third floor of block B is situated the only Crisis Center for Children on the territory of the Municipality of Varna. The building is located in an Area of influence with predominantly social character, in the Integrated plan for Sustainable Urban Development of Varna. The results to be achieved with the project activities are: a fully renovated and modernized building for social services, conformed to the requirements of the technical passport and the energy audit, with observing the requirements of the acting legislation in the Republic of Bulgaria; fully furnished and equipped premises; provision of an accessible architectural environment for service users and an improved outlook of the living environment, including approaches and sport facilties. A secure and supportive environment will be created for children at risk, homeless and socially disadvantaged people together with the achievement of European standards for social infrastructure. The building will be compliance with statutory requirements for public service buildings, providing safety for the lives and health of resident children and adults The groups directly affected by the outcomes of the project are children of domestic violence families, traumatized by violence or abandonment, children dropped out of the education system, children with deficiencies, victims of human traffick, homeless and socially disadvantaged people and Roma people, falling within the scope of the previous categories.
