"ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS IN THE CITY OF VARNA"

The project proposal envisages the introduction of energy efficiency measures and achievement of at least energy class "C" in eight multi-family residential buildings in Varna. The intervention objects were selected after conducting an information campaign and a procedure for prioritization of Applications for Interest and Financial Aid by Owners' Associations, registered in Varna. The eight buildings are located in the Impact Area with Public Functions of High Public Importance from Varna's IPURD. The implementation of the project activities will bring the buildings in compliance with the mandatory requirements of the energy audits and part "Constructive" of the technical passports, in compliance with the requirements of the current legislation in the Republic of Bulgaria and will improve the architectural appearance of the respective residential areas. The implementation of the project will lead to higher energy efficiency and will directly contribute to the reduction of final energy consumption in residential buildings, as well as improve access for disabled people, and indirectly contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. The implementation of the project will contribute to the achievement of the national energy efficiency target, namely to achieve a 25% higher energy efficiency by 2020.
