Reconstruction and rehabilitation of pedestrian environment and construction of public recreation areas

Project Reconstruction and rehabilitation of pedestrian environment and construction of public recreation areas is prepared in accordance with the requirements of Operational Programme Regions in Growth 2014-2020, investment priority 3 Urban environment. The realisation of the project is part of a comprehensive, integrated approach for urban regeneration and development, uniting all sites in one architectural spatial, thematic and landscape solution, completing the overal vision of the city centre and connecting it to the Danube River, thus emphasising the identity of the urban landscape and its uniqueness, in complete harmony with the historic architecture of the city and the surrounding landscapes. The project realisation will ensure ballanced and sustainable development of the territory for improving the living conditions, business conditions and security and will improve the transportation and communication services of the city centre. The project proposal includes the following sites, which are located within area of impact with high public functions - Zone A, determined under the Integrated Plan for Urban Regeneration and Development: Reconstruction and rehabilitation of the pedestrian environment along Baba Tonka Street, Ruse; Rehabilitation and construction of public recreation area along the coastline in the area from the railway crossing at River station to Mostova Street - first, second and third stage; Reconstruction and rehabilitation of the pedestrian environment along Raiko Daskalov Street; Reconstruction and rehabilitation of the pedestrian environment along Slavyanska Street; Reconstruction and rehabilitation of the pedestrian environment along Tsarkovna nezavisimost Street; Youth park-reconstruction and landscaping, including construction of large playground and outdoor fitness playgrounds, Vazrazhdane complex, Ruse. The selected sites have the biggest contribution to achieving synergic effect of the Investment Programme of Ruse Municipality.
