The selected sites for Stara Zagora Investment Programme have as a main objective to provide support for urban renewal and development of problematic areas. The renovation of the educational infrastructure in Stara Zagora includes three sites from the area with predominant social character – secondary school “Zheleznik”, kindergarten 58 “Zvezditza”, located in “Zheleznik” neighborhood, kindergarten “Zvanche”, located in “Tri chuchura-north” neighborhood, one site in the area of predominantly public function foreign language “Romain Rolland” and two sites school IX “Veselin Hanchev” and “Ivan Vazov” school, which provide the functional connections of the city with its peripheral zones. All schools are institutions where children and young people spend the major part of their lifetime and follow a formal education and in the same time the schools assist young people in shaping their visions and life prospectives. The low energy efficiency of the educational infrastructure, the bad general condition of buildings are the main reasons for the inclusion of the schools in the Investment Programme . The need to establish an accessible environment for disabled people and disadvantaged children at school buildings ,and last but not least the renovation of the surrounding areas will foster the creation of a healthy and safe life environment. With the renovation of the above mentioned sites, Stara Zagora municipality will upgrade with work done so far through funding from different programmes and will closely attain the overall fulfillment of this investment priority. With the energy saving measures implemented the project will contribute to the climate change policy, the reduction of energy consumption and the bad emissions.
