Green spaces development and physical environment improvement of the Station Garden in Stara Zagora

Project proposal is aimed at creating a beautiful, and sustainable and safe urban environment. It contributes for a better quality of life, higher citizens’ safety and creates conditions for boosting social-economic development and growing investments. “Stancionna gradina” park reconstruction and rehabilitation and its physical environment upgrade, plot –5191for a park, quarter 8 “Industria”, after Stara Zagora city Plan includes in the following measures: • Redesign and overall renovation of the alleys’ network. Highlight of the main pedestrian axis, directed North-South which connects the city centre to the railway station through shaping 3 square areas, located at the garden Northern and Southern entrance, and in its central zone • Alongside the main pedestrian axis will be disposed the basic focus elements, namely “the compass” at the Northern garden entrance, “the fountain” in the central garden area and “the symbol” on the railway station square • Shaping garden zones equipped with a modern sport facilities. Building of bicycle attraction park, skateboard and rollers’ playground. • Preservation and conservation of the vegetation available • A phytosanitary evaluation was carried out specifying the vegetation condition and the rehabilitation measures needed. • Building of a children bicycle lane with an educational playground “Traffic safety” • Building of children playgrounds for various age groups - from 0-3 years, from 3-12 years and from 12-18 years in line with the contemporary trends • Construction of a new fountain, which combines its own dynamics with multimedia technologies: light, music and water effects. • Overall replacement of the outdoors’ furniture and park lighting with a newly designed elements Project proposal is entirely in compliance with the Zones of intervention set out in Stara Zagora Integrated Urban Development Plan. “Stancionna gradina” park is located in the public functions’ Zone of high importance.
