Construction of Social Housing in the fourth microregion

The project "Construction of Social Housing in the fourth microregion" provides the construction of modern social housing for vulnerable, minority and socially disadvantaged groups and other disadvantaged groups, and the provision of complementary social services (education, employment, health, social inclusion). Through the implementation of the project Municipality of Blagoevgrad will fulfill its obligation to the public and will carry out activities in the public interest, namely, providing shelter and normal living conditions of the aforementioned groups of the population who can not afford home ownership or rental housing and virtually have no other alternative. The newly built social housing will be distinguished from the general municipal housing fund as the determination of the rent will be based on the principle of providing access to the buildings for the most in need, which will ensure not only the actual use of the housing but also will satisfy all other household needs of its users. The current project proposal will be executed in accordance with the National Strategy for Roma Integration of the Republic of Bulgaria (2012-2020). The measures for providing social housing for marginalized groups including Roma people will be combined with other interventions, including those in the field of education, health, social inclusion and employment, which will lead to integrated approach. Furthermore, the chosen location of Housing construction will ensure spatial integration for the representatives of the target groups, as a whole, and will not contribute to segregation, isolation or exclusion.
