Integrated urban transport of Blagoevgrad town

Project "Integrated urban transport of Blagoevgrad" is prepared on the basis of an integrated territorial approach, aimed at the continuous improvement of the vital, environmental and economic conditions in Blagoevgrad and the municipaliy as a whole, by presenting measures and implementing activities related to the improvement of the services of the public transport. The project is based on a selected Alternative, that finds its truthful and precise legal framework in Feasibility study and Financial analysis. The Alternative consists of 3 investment components for implementation, as follows: - Comp. 1: Investing in the construction of an electronic traffic management system and a real-time information system for passengers that will improve the urban mobility, increase road traffic safety, enhance the efficiency of the existing infrastructure and contribute to reducing the environmental pollution through controlling the traffic flows and traffic volume; - Comp. 2: Works for the construction of metal frames for informational boards on the bus stops (incl. supply of electricity power for the boards), which will improve the awareness of citizens and visitors and will contribute to more easily organization of their travelling; - Comp. 3: Construction of underpass to the neighbourhood "Gramada", which will improve the connectivity of the city and will secure the accessibility between the southern and northern part of the town. With the realization of the activities, the Municipality will fulfill one of its obligations to the society - to provide to its citizens and guests more efficient, qualitative and convenient urban public transport. Also, will be built more accessable infrastructure for the public transport networks and will be created preconditions for reducing congestion and overall traffic in the town. The implementation and enforcement of all these measures will inevitably lead to a reduction of the negative influence and impact on the environment.
