Developing Integrated System for the Urban Transport in Dobrich

The project "Development of an integrated urban transport system in Dobrich" was prepared in accordance with the requirements of OP "Regions in Growth" 2014-2020, investment priority 2 "Integrated urban transport". The Project falls within one of the priority areas of impact and interconnected initiatives (measures) to achieve the strategic goals of the Integrated Urban Recovery and Development Plan of Dobrich Municipality. The project proposal proposes a territorial approach and a set of integrated actions, including: 1. An intelligent transport system (ITS) regulating traffic lights at intersections and a public transport management system ( PTMS) , including a bus positioning system and electronic information boards at stops for real-time information on vehicle arrival, as well web based information system for bus movement in real time. 2. Modernization of the public urban transport system by purchasing new rolling stock that complies with European regulations - 4 pcs. electric buses and charging stations therefore. 3. Renovation of the transport infrastructure by reconstruction of 30 bus stops with stopover priority for the bus stops of the “Dob.Epopeja” Blvd., and the most loaded stops by citizens, along the lines served by the electrobuses and bus stops with traffic flow in the Dobrich city. 4. Reconstruction of the “Dobrichka Epopeja” Blvd. as one of the main arteries of the integrated public urban transport system. 5. Upgrading of the Bicycle Traffic Scheme in the town of Dobrich by construction of new bicycle lanes along “Dob. Epopeja” Blvd., as part of the integrated urban transport system. All planned activities and selected sites are interconnected and aim for a lasting improvement of the economic, social and environmental situation of the town of Dobrich. The selected individual components are in such a way that the overall impact of the project proposal exceeds the sum of the impact of its individual components, if implemented individually.
