The project proposal is part of the approved Investment Programme of the Municipality of Sliven and is included within the investment priority "Social Infrastructure", a group of activities "Social Infrastructure". The project includes construction and equipment of two new buildings for the purposes of a Crisis Center for Victims of Domestic Violence and a Homeless Shelter. The two social services buildings will be situated near the center of Sliven, in plot of land XIII, quarter 96, 18 “L. Karavelov” Str. The buildings will have a common yard with separate entrances. These services are new for the municipality and are necessary in view of the growing number of minority groups. The Homeless Shelter will provide services for a period up to three months in a year, during which the everyday needs of the poor people for shelter and food will be satisfied. In addition, during the stay at the shelter, the homeless people will be able to take training or educational courses to help them find a job and improve their social adaptation. The Crisis Center for Victims of Domestic Violence is intended to provide a complex of social services for children and / or adults, affected by violence, trafficking or other forms of exploitation. The service will be provided for up to 6 months. The visitors of the center will receive shelter and food, individual support and psychological assistance, including through mobile teams for crisis intervention.
