Gabrovo – Investments in the Creation of a Contemporary Urban Environment

The current project aims at improvement of the physical outlook of Gabrovo – a center of urban agglomeration – through the realization of effective investments with long-term results for the improvement of quality of life and ecological environment. The elaborated project proposal supports the realization of the Integrated Plan for Urban Regeneration and Development of Gabrovo oriented towards sustainable and durable overcome of the high concentration of economic, environmental and social problems. The project uses an integrated approach in order to complement and build upon the investments in providing an accessible, ecologically-oriented and aesthetically organized urban environment. The intervention encompasses key urban areas – Koleloto Park and adjoining territories, part of central urban area, crossroad at Shivarov Bridge, part of Eastern urban street, where the complex of integrated measures for rehabilitation and development includes: construction and rehabilitation of public recreation zones – improvement of park areas and inner zones of residential districts; lay-out activities and exterior equipment; construction of walkways and children playgrounds; street rehabilitation and reconstruction; introduction of energy efficient street lighting; creation of aesthetic compositions. The realization of the planned interconnected activities which guarantee the effect of synergy will achieve a durable improvement of the accessibility, safety, ecological environment and quality of life in the town of Gabrovo.
