Investments in the Creation of Contemporary Educational Infrastructure in Gabrovo Municipality

The current project aims at the improvement of the educational infrastructure in Gabrovo Municipality through the implementation of energy efficiency measures and equipment modernization in two municipal educational institutions, which will lead to improvement of the educational process as a whole. The envisioned activities include implementation of the necessary energy efficiency measures in the buildings of St. St. Cyril and Methodius Primary School and Vasil Levski Primary School, provision of accessible architectural environment, premises rehabilitation, overhaul of the existing installations and construction of new ones (fire alarm system, video surveillance system, etc.), as well as rehabilitation of the adjacent school yards. Thanks to the increased attractiveness of the school environment, the schools will be perceived not only as a place for acquiring the contemporary knowledge included in the school schedule, but also as a natural environment for the students, sought and desired territory, a place for social communication, personal growth and manifestation. High importance is given to the contribution to school dropout prevention which finds a real expression in the envisioned project measures, referred especially to students who are at the age of contemporary school attendance. Having in mind that the representatives of school dropouts are mainly students from the ethnic minorities/students in unequal social position, the improved environment will be an additional stimulus for integration and successful socialization. The equipment modernization of the education infrastructure will lead to an overall improvement of the educational process; it will facilitate the introduction of new training methods which will increase and hold the students’ interest and will have a favorable effect on their motivation for a higher activity in the process of knowledge acquisition and personal realization on the labor market.
