Rehabilitation and new spatial solutions in the pedestrian zone of the town's central area and rehabilitation of the "Todor Kirkov" Square, Varosha quarter, town of Lovech

The project includes rehabilitation and new spatial solutions in the pedestrian zone of the town centre and "Todor Kirkov" Square in the Architectural and historical reserve (AHR) of "Varosha" in the town of Lovech.According to the design and building permit, the construction and repair works (CRW) will be accomplished on 4 sites, 3 of which are included in the project proposal: Site 1-pedestrian zone of the Targovska Street, town garden and Exarch Joseph I Square; Site 2-G.M.Dimitrov Square and Cosmos residential complex Site 3-Todor Kirkov Square in AHR Varosha. Site 4-Svoboda Square-reserve project. This town centre area includes most of the administrative,commercial,financial,cultural and educational institutions determing its public significance.The sites above were built in the middle of 1980s and have been only maintained by current repairs but not urbanized.The pavement is quite destructed. The T.Kirkov Square is distinguished for its silhouette, pavement and composition. It's entirely pedestrian and surrounded by the Youth House (main project of the Investment Programme) and the Covered Bridge (financial instrument),a hotel,commercial and residential buildings.The pavement, made of red stone and granite setts, is heavily destructed and deformed. The main CRW are: •Change of the pavements •Construction of fountains on Exarch Joseph I Sq. and in front of the Drama Theatre •Construction of wheel chair platforms •New spatial solution for the lanes and green system of the town garden •Repair of the sculpture in front of the Courts of Justice •Construction of a new pedestrian axis from Tsacho Shishkov Street through the town garden towards the Cathedral •Rehabilitation of the green system and urban arrangement •Repair works in the Cosmos residential complex passage •Reconstruction and new construction of energy efficient park lighting •Repair works on the T.Kirkov Square pavement,rehabilitation of the green system and urban arrangement
