Renovation and energy efficiency of educational infrastructure in Smolyan

Project proposal “Renovation And Energy Efficiency Of Educational Infrastructure In The City Of Smolyan” includes repair and renovation of four schools and one kindergarten. The interventions are aimed at complete renovation of Science and Mathematics Highchool “Vasil Levski” in the town of Smolyan including construction of a gymnasium and renovation of the schoolyard; complete renovation of the schoolyards of three of the biggest schools in Smolyan: schoolyard and sports facilities of VI “Ivan Vazov” Primary School and English Language School “Ivan Vazov”, which are situated in the same building and schoolyard and sports facilities of VII “Otec Paisii” Secondary School. The basic measures for energy efficiency were implemented in these schools under a project funded by OP "RD " 2007-2014. The project proposal also includes overhaul and reconstruction of Kindergarten №5 "Buratino", including energy efficiency measures, accessible environment, structural strengthening, internal repair works to ensure healthy living environment and additional firefighting measures and rehabilitation of the surrounding area. We have included measures for accessible architectural environment as well as safety measures and risk-prevention measures, along with the installment of video surveillance for all of the objects of the project proposal. We have also provided delivery of the furniture and the equipment needed for the modernization of the learning process. Most part of the objects are located in the zones of influence, included in the approved Integrated Plan For Urban Regeneration And Development of the City of Smolyan, as Science and Mathematics Highchool “Vasil Levski” was included in the IPURD through amendment in 2015 within the 20% flexibility outside the areas in terms of functional links between the areas of influence and the rest of the town and the municipality.
