Reconstruction and rehabilitation of the street network in the western part of the city of Gotse Delchev

The project envisages actions for rehabilitation of the road network in the western part of the city of Gotse Delchev. Specific sites covered by the project are described below. The project consists of a combination of several complementary activities that contribute to the improvement of the physical and living environment of the target area. They are: • Main construction activities for rehabilitation of road network with a total length of about 6400 linear meters, installation of road signs, establishment of road markings and "raised" crosswalks. • Replacement of the street lights with energy efficient ones. • Park management, landscape architecture and amelioration of adjacent green areas. • Urbanization of the approaches to apartment buildings and garages, widening for parking and placement of waste containers. • Establishing an accessible architectural environment for the disabled. The project proposal aims at the peripheral neighborhoods of the city of Gotse Delchev characterized as an area with mainly residential functions in the worst condition, based on studies and analyzes carried out during the preparation stage. The sites are situated in a zone with prevailing social character according to the approved Integrated plan for urban rehabilitation and development (IPURD) of Gotse Delchev. The combination of the above mentioned activities will lead to an overall improvement of the space that will ensure compliance with the integrated approach and a permanent improvement of the physical and living environment. As a final result, the project will contribute to the amelioraion of the physical environment in Gotse Delchev and respectively – to the improvement of the quality of life (through development of spaces) and social inclusion (through the building of accessible architectural environment). The project will lead to economic benefits from reduced energy consumption and the improvement of business conditions in the region.
