The project proposal (PP) provides a set of investments aimed at improving the system for public transport in the town of Dupnitsa, including: 1) Improving the links between the integrated public transport and intercity railway transport with a view to the realization of intermodal transport operations; 2) Development of route network to remote residential areas, by creating a new line of PT, which will provide direct transport links between the regions covered by PT; 3) The purchase of new rolling stock for the needs of PT that meets European legislation on emissions from engines in order to improve air quality and increasing accessibility to IPT; 4) Improving the accessibility to bus stops urban public transport, by updating the sidewalks, eliminating obstacles to the guidance and information, light and audio announcements of stops, clear visual marking of the lines and timetables, information, understandable and suitable for people with reduced vision or blind; 5) Deployment of ITS, including automated control systems and traffic monitoring to detect vehicles and positioning and securing the primacy of vehicles of urban public transport, systems for passenger information in real time; 6) Construction, renovation and reconstruction of the road network in the rout lines of urban public transport, incl. marking and placement of road signs, to develop an integrated public transport system; 7) Upgrading transport infrastructure by updating equipment and service base, with a view to the maintenance of newly purchased buses of PT; Project activities take into account the functioning identified in IPGVR zones of influence and are developed based on an integrated territorial approach based on detailed pre-feasibility study.
