Through the project "Improvement of the urban environment in Kyustendil" will be implemented measures in group activities "urban environment" planned in investment program of the municipality of Kyustendil. The implementation of this project will be a natural upgrade over the results achieved in the previous programming period 2007-2013. The project foresees build and restore public recreation areas, including parks, green spaces, playgrounds, town squares. Also will be built and restored worn physical elements of the urban environment, will focus on improving relations over the river passing through the central part of the city. In the updated sections will be rehabilitated road network and will be installed energy efficient street lighting and security systems. By improving the urban environment will be improved and cultural tourism products, which in turn will improve opportunities for family hospitality, which is a traditional industry in the area. The realization of the project "Improvement of the urban environment in Kyustendil" is in line with the EU strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth set in Europe 2020.
