„Development, renovation and modernization of the urban environment in Targovishte”

The Project Proposal provides for the overall reconstruction, expansion and urbanization of 5 linear objects in Targovishte as listed below: 1. Gladston Str. and Veliko Tarnovo Str.; 2. Treti Mart Str. from Trayko Kitanchev Blvd. up to the Connecting Road leading to the Ring Road; 3. Suresness Blvd.; 4. Roundabout Junction on Mitropolit Andrey Blvd. and Pop Sava Katrafilov Str.; 5. Zapad 2 Residential District – Subproject 1, including sq. 307, sq. 308, sq. 309, sq. 310 and sq. 311 as per the City Plan of Targovishte. Interventions planned under the present Project Proposal, which are targeting the sites belonging to two of the impact areas referred to in IUDMP - an area of predominantly social character and an area with public functions of considerable social significance – will be combined with investments in educational and social infrastructure (due to be implemented under separate projects ), will contribute to the overall physical renewal and urbanization, as well as to the improvement of the ecological environment, revitalization and development of the city. Implementation of this Project Proposal will be instrumental to: • realization of IUDMP of Targovishte aimed at a sustainable elimination of the high concentration of economic, natural and social problems of the city. • achievement of Thematic Objective 6 „Preservation and protection of the environment and promotion of the source efficiency”, in compliance with the General Regulation (EC) №1303/2013; achievement of the Second Objective of the present Procedure within the present Grant Scheme : „ Enhancement of the quality of urban life, social inclusion and improvement of ecological environment through urbanization of the physical surroundings in the cities”
