“Renovation and implementation of energy measures in the building of the Regional “Fire Safety and Protection of Population Service” - Zlatograd”

The project proposal aims to increase the energy efficiency of a public building of the State Administration in Zlatograd. In the building is located the Regional “Fire Safety and Protection of Population Service” - Zlatograd. The building was built in 1981. It has two floors with a partial high basement, a cellar and an attic, the construction is massive with the total area of 345 sq.m. An economic activity is not operated in the building. Since its construction the building is not repaired and renovated although it operates 7 days a week for 24 hours a day. The building has been chosen for intervention because it is one of the administrative buildings in the city with the lowest energy class and the greatest potential for energy savings. In the city there is no other building with larger needs for renovation. It is apparent from the reports that in the building is necessary to be introduced measures to increase energy efficiency in order to achieve higher energy class “B” and minimum 60% energy savings. It is also necessary to be implemented measures for structural strengthening to ensure the extension of the life cycle of the building. At present it is established that the building has a defect in the structure, as a result of which fissures were formed. It is therefore necessary to take measures for restoring, strengthening and securing the building, according to current regulation in design and construction. The measures that should be implemented to increase the energy efficiency of the building and achieving energy class “B” are: insulation of walls, floor and roof, replacement of windows and the lighting system. The Municipality of Zlatograd is the lead organization on the project proposal for the renovation of the building of the Regional “FSPPS” – Zlatograd. General Directorate “Fire Safety and Protection of Population Service” of the Ministry of Interior which is the secondary administrator with budget funds is a partner on the project proposal.
