Renovation and implementation of energy measures in the building of the Regional Police Department of Zlatograd

The project proposal aims to increase energy efficiency and extend the life cycle of a public building of the State Administration. In the building is located the Regional Police Department of Zlatograd which is a part of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior – Smolyan. The building was built in 1971. It has three floors, a cellar with the total area of 219 sq. m. Since its construction the building is not repaired and renovated, except a part of the first floor, where is located the “Passport Service”, the windows have been replaced and access for people with special needs has been provided. The building has been selected for interventions because on Zlatograd territory this is the public administration building with larger needs of renovation. It is apparent from the reports that in the building is necessary to be introduced measures to increase energy efficiency and implement measures for structural strengthening to ensure the extension of the life cycle. At present, the building has class of energy “C”. To extend the life cycle of the building the mandatory measures have been prescribed such as roof repairs, replacement of wiring, change of layout of the building, so as to ensure fire safety and etc. The prescribed measures to improve energy efficiency of a public building are as follows: thermal insulation of exterior walls, roof and floor, replacement of metal and wooden windows with PVC. The implementation of these measures will enhance the class of energy consumption of the building to class “B”. The Municipality of Zlatograd is the lead organization in the project proposal for the renovation of the building of the RPD of Zlatograd. Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior – Smolyan which is the secondary administrator with budget funds is a partner in the project proposal.
