Energy efficiency improvement of the municipal cultural infrastructure in Berkovitsa municipality - National community center "Ivan Vazov 1872" in the town of Berkovitsa

The project is aimed at improving the energy efficiency of a municipal building that is part of the cultural infrastructure in the town of Berkovitsa - National community center „Ivan Vazov 1872“ by the implementation of energy efficiency measures. The envisioned project activities will help redirect the public financial resources from facility and heating expeditures to carrying out a rich and diverse cultural program. The community center is a cultural and spiritual center for the area as a whole. A good example for its key role for the development of cultural services is the emblematic „Berkovitsa brass band“.The center brings together proffesionals and connoisseurs from all art forms. The communal ensembles participate in all celebrations and events in the municipality. The building has not been reconstructed throughout the years and no energy efficiency measures have been implemented. The general structural condition is positive. Throughout the years small renovation works have been executed without affecting the bearing construction. With the present project proposal the implementation of the following energy efficiency measures is envisioned : B1 : Heat insulation of 1363 m2 of exterior walls B2 : Replacement of 212m2 exterior woodwork with one with PVC double glazing windows B3 : Heat insulation of 1385m2 roof C1 : Replacement of fuel base and installation of 2pcs. Pellet boilers and reconstruction of the heating installation C2: Installation of solar thermal system for domestic hot water production E1: Replacement and reconstruction of the lighting installation Regarding to a Operational Programme “Regions in Growth” and Guidelines for Applicants procedure BG16RFOP001-2.001, the project is aimed at implementing the thematic objective 04 "Supporting the shift towards a lowcarbon economy in all sectors," laying down rules pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
