The project proposal aims to increase the energy efficiency and to extend the life cycle of multifamily residential buildings in the town of Zlatograd. These are blocks 7, 8, 175, 181, 182 and 195 in the town of Zlatograd. Currently the apartments in these buildings are energy inefficient because most of them are heated by solid fuel, which is a prerequisite for increasing air pollution in the city. Given that the blocks are included for investments in order to improve the energy efficiency in the apartments which will contribute to improve air quality and quality of life in general in the region. The blocks were built in the 60s and 70s and since then they have not been fully renovated. An economic activity is not operated in the buildings. It is apparent from the reports of energy efficiency and structural stability that in these six buildings are necessary to be introduced measures to increase the energy efficiency and implement measures for structural strengthening to ensure the extension of the life cycle of the buildings. At present the six buildings have energy classes from “G” to “E”. The measures that have been prescribed to achieve energy class “C” of the buildings are: thermal insulation of exterior walls, replacement of metal and wooden windows with PVC, with double glazing, thermal insulation of roofs, replacement of lighting. Access for people with disabilities is provided to the buildings.
