Increasing the energy efficiency of residential buildings in city of Berkovitsa - stage 2

The current project proposal is aimed at increasing the energy efficiency of two residential buildings in the territory of Berkovitsa by implementing energy saving measures. The buildings were selected after an information campaign. The project proposal envisages the implementation of all mandatory energy-saving measures from the energy audit of residential buildings subject to project intervention and the achievement of at least energy class C of each building. One multifamily residential building is located in Berkovitsa, residential district "Sunrise", bl. 9, approx. 10 and approx. 11, UPI IV, square 1 under the plan of Berkovitsa, PI 03928.513.278. The building was put into operation in 1980. The other multifamily residential building is with an administrative address "Zaryanitsa", bl. 21 and bl. 22, UPI I, square 6 according to the plan of Berkovitsa, PI 03928.510.16.15 and PI 03928.510.16.16. The building was put into operation in 1981. The project activities will help to reduce the cost of maintenance of the facilities and the cost of energy and heating, while on the other hand will improve the comfort and energy performance of the buildings.An additional effect of the measures will be to ensure cost-effective operation, which will allow its sustainable management and maintenance over time. This project proposal envisages the implementation of the following ECMs and the achievement of energy class A in both buildings: Measure B1 - Thermal insulation of exterior walls; Measure B2 - Roof insulation; Measure B3 - Thermal insulation of the floor; Measure B4 - Replacement of windows; Measure C1 - Optimization of the lighting system - installation of LED lights in the common parts; The energy audit revealed that the heat losses through the surrounding external elements - walls and roof are large and that the building does not meet the current energy efficiency requirements. In the present state, buildings fall into energy class D from the energy scale.
