The project consists of repair and reconstruction for implementing energy efficiency measures and securing access for persons with disabilities to the buildings of the "Yuri Gagarin" sports school in the Bourgas. The project is focused at improving the educational infrastructure that has both regional and national importance, providing students with knowledge and skills related to labor market conditions. Besides its importance in the region of Burgas "Yuri Gagarin" sports school is an integral part of the national system of physical education and sport in Bulgaria. This type of schools are the basic units for preparation of elite athletes and improved conditions will contribute to creating an attractive and safe environment for developing the talents of the best athletes from the sports "reserve" of the country. Energy efficiency measures of the buildings will help to adapt the educational infrastructure to the expected climate change and meet the requirements for energy renovation of buildings. The project also includes measures for improving educational infrastructure for disadvantaged students. Implementation of measures for improved access for people with disabilities to the school building will significantly increase the opportunities for children and people with impaired mobility to study and work in the education and will come in-line with The long-term national strategy for employment of people with disabilities 2011-2020, and the Convention on rights of persons with disabilities. This is a prerequisite for social inclusion and combat the isolation of this group of society. Ministry of Youth and Sports is the institution responsible for the project management and quality implementation of planned activities.
