Reconstruction, renovation and implementation of energy efficiency measures in the building of "Knyaz Simeon Tarnovski" High School of Economics - Stara Zagora

"Knyaz Simeon Tarnovski" High School of Economics-Stara Zagora is the oldest vocational school in the region,established in 1921. 671 students are being educated in 8 economic professions.It is a 3-storey building,a basement and a sport gym connected by an indoor walkway.Firstly,a 3-storey school building was constructed.It was enlarged twice:in 1960- eastwards,and in 1967- westwards.In 1993 was built the indoor gym.In the past 30 years the school was only partially renovated,which at present requires a complete overhaul and modernization of its building in order to improve the educational environment quality and to enhance its attractiveness among students.The following target groups will be positively affected by the project implementation:671 students at age from 14 to 19 years;46 teachers;17 employees administrative and technical staff.Indirect beneficiaries are 1342 parents of the students in the school.The project envisages major renovation, reconstruction and modernization of the bulding in order to achieve a healthy,safe and good-looking environment for provision of modern professional educational services in the High School of Economics.The project aims at achieving updated energy efficiency criteria and at creating equal conditions for disadvantaged people by implementing measures allowing disabled people to have access to the school building. The main expected projects results are:fully refurbished waterproofing of the building;fully repaired external drainage on the facades of the building;new water,sewerage and electrical installations; new heating system;replaced lighting fixtures;renovated bathrooms,dressing rooms and gymnasium;replaced flooring;changed internal windows and doors;separated table tennis sports hall;landscaped school yard and external space; provided secured access to persons with disabilities.
