In recent years, the National Sports Academy has validated and refined its role as the first national center for sports science. The academy works consistently to match its educational standards to those of the universities in the European Union on the basis of mutual integration. The objectives of the present project are related to modernization of the teaching process and educational services offered by the National Sports Academy through updating its facilities and providing modern equipment and furnishing for the building at 1 Gurgulyat street and its adjacent yard space. Another objective is improving the quality of the educational environment in the National Sports Academy and making it more attractive to young people, as well as ensuring that people from disadvantage groups have equal access to the educational services offered by the National Sports Academy. The following activities were planned to ensure the realisation of these objectives: Preparation of investment projects, Carrying out procedures for selection of contractors; Major refurbishment and supply of new equipment and furnishing for the building 1 Gurgulyat street and its adjacent yard space. Construction and fitting out of a new sports hall - annex to the existing building. Expected results: Combined implementation of measures for improvement of the infrastructure, which is outdated and does not comply with the contemporary realities and modern working patterns, and provision of equipment will result in a complete renovation of the facilities of the National Sports Academy and improvement of the educational process. This will facilitate introduction of new training methods, which will increase and maintain young people's interest. Improved conditions, modern educational rooms and sports halls will have a favourable effect on student motivation for more active learning and subsequent application of their knowledge at the labour market.
