Reconstruction, modernization and introduction of energy efficiency measures in an educational block of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy University- Sofia

The project proposal envisages improvement the conditions of educational service in the building "B" and adjacent studying halls in Chemistry-Technological and Metallurgical University - Sofia through introduction of energy efficiency improvement measures in it. The planned activities include introduction of energy saving measures the prescribed by the consultant conducted energy audit of the buildings, and implementation of the reflected in the technical passport guidelines and recommendations in order to reach at least class energy "C" in the building. The measures will contribute for creation of modern educational conditions, and at the same time the better performance of the building within the scope of intervention will also significantly reduce operating costs for the building and will contribute to the extension of its life cycle. The project is directed at implementing the following thematic objectives in accordance with the General Regulation №1303 / 2013: Thematic goal 10 "Investments in education, training, including professional training for skills and lifelong learning." The current support aims to improve educational infrastructure and environment at Chemistry-Technological and Metallurgical University - Sofia, to provide training and skills of students at the university, which will meet the needs at the labour market, and to provide accessible environment for students with disabilities. The interventions within the project proposal will also contribute to achievement of the indicative national targets for energy savings in 2020 in accordance to the National Action Plan on Energy Efficiency 2014-2020.The activities for energy upgrade will extend the life of the building, reduce maintenance costs and assist in reducing greenhouse gases, as well as will improve the learning process at the university.
