New educational block at National Academy of Arts in Sofia

The project proposal envisages the construction of a new school campus for the purposes of National Academy of Arts - c. Sofia. National Academy is located in one of the most important and key places in the historic center of the city between the Memorial Church "St. Alexander Nevsky", National Library "St. St. Cyril and Methodius ", University of Sofia, Parliament and Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The project for expansion and reconstruction of the Art Academy is a unique opportunity these remarkable buildings to unite in a harmonious architectural and urban ensemble of a modern "Acropolis". Planned activities provide design and construction of a 5-floors building with 18 studios and 3 lecture halls. The building will be located in the eastern part of the academy by the entrance, which will be located in the south,adjacent to the existing north wing of the NAA. On the ground floor, the first and second floor there are 4 studios, while the third and fourth they are 3. The mounting system is so designed that it allows flexibility and regrouping of the premises. A semi-underground level are 3 separate lecture halls, computer room and technical premises. The project is aimed at implementing the following thematic objectives in accordance with the General Regulation №1303 / 2013: Thematic goal 10 "Investments in education, training, including vocational training for skills and lifelong learning." Interventions within the project proposal will contribute to achieving the indicative national targets for energy savings in 2020 under the National Action Plan on Energy Efficiency 2014-2020 The supporting aims the improvements of educational infrastructure and environment of the National Academy of Arts, providing training and skills of students at the university, meeting the needs of the labor market and providing accessible environment for students with disabilities.
