Repair and Reconstruction of the Building of Corps "B" in Campus "Lozenets" of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski"

The overall objective of the project proposal is to create conditions for provision of modern educational services at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics and Faculty of Physics of the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", through upgrading of facilities, provision of modern equipment and furnishing of the building of corps "B" of "Lozenets" campus of the university. The project provides for preparation, coordination and approval of detailed design and implementation of activities under complete renovation and reconstruction of the building of corps "B" of "Lozenets" campus at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", which will include: the most effective package of energy saving measures for the building, which achieve the regulatory requirements for energy efficiency, all mandatory measures prescribed in the technical investigation to bring the building in compliance with the technical requirements, all necessary measures to ensure accessible architectural environment under the current regulations. In order to ensure the lawful execution of construction activities an assessment of the conformity of the investment project and construction supervision will be carried out during the construction. New equipment and furniture for all school offices in the building will be delivered. Activities for information and communication will be implemented in order to ensure publicity and public information on the EU financial contribution to the project. As a result of the project the quality of the educational environment in the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics and Faculty of Physics of the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" will be improved and its attractiveness among 2367 students and over 270 professors will increase. The project will ensure equal access of disadvantaged groups to the education service offered in both faculties.
