Building an Academic Information Center at the Thracian University of Stara Zagora

This project proposal aims at expanding the capacity of the academic community and creating real conditions for adapting experience and competences, creating additional physical space and flexible infrastructure that is fully tailored to the needs of the educational process in the priority areas. The project combines the functions of an academic center for collective training and science, with access to quality scientific literature and electronic resources with remote access, with the potential for developing distance learning. The AIC is in tune with the educational needs of the younger generation and their active participation in academic life, with an emphasis on the ability to co-organize the learning and interactive learning process, as well as to establish a dynamic connection between students, faculty and administration. The developed project involves the creation of additional physical space of 4460.90 sq.m. with four ground floors including: Information block with automated reference places and exhibition area; copy center and digitization; seminar hall; repositories for catalogs, textbooks and periodicals; free access fund and self-study places; loan service; Information unit with computer room, recreation lounge; self-study places; 4 cabinets; reading room for group study and work; a seminar room; rooms for independent work and study. Laboratory with physic-chemical room, premises for molecular biology and cell cultures, for viral diagnostics. The creation of AIC will consolidate and develop the position of Thracian University in the priority fields of science - Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Health Care, as well as enable the development of other fields - medicine, agrarian sciences, economics, technology and technology, pedagogy, to complement the competences of young people and to respond adequately to the demands and dynamics of the labor market.
