"Creation of conditions for the opening of 5 new social services on the territory of Burgas Municipality"

The project proposal aims to create effective social infrastructure on the territory of Burgas Municipality for provision of residential and accompanying community based services for children and young people supporting of their deinstitutionalization. Activities planned include construction and equipment of social infrastructure for 5 new social services, part of the Map of the services for support in the community and family environment and the Map of residential services. The new services include: Centre for community support, Daily centre for support of children with disabilities and their families, Daily centre for support of children with heavy, multiple disabilities and their families, Transitional home for children from 15 to 18 years and Monitored home for young people aged 18-21 years. The project proposal addresses three main aspects of needs, related to the provision of suitable conditions for care for children and young people living in social institutions, including children with disabilities, requiring permanent medical care and children and families at risk, namely: the need for supportive and accompanying services to support children and families related to the provision of resident-type social services, improving the quality of the environment in which children and young people are growing up and educated according to their specific needs and improving its effectiveness in terms of opportunities and conditions for application of non-traditional and alternative to institutional care approaches. The implementation of the project will contribute to ensuring equal access to quality care and services for children and adolescents, according to individual needs and creation of skills for independent living, through the development of necessary infrastructure for provision of residential and accompanying services in the community.
