New Opportunity for Children and Young People in Vratsa Municipality - Project 2

The main purpose of the project is to secure effective social infrastructure, with main aim to supply a new service for support in the community and in the family environment that, will replace the institutional model for child care with a model of care, closer to the family environment in society. The scope of social services in Vratsa Municipality will be increased by repairs, reconstruction, furnishing and equipping a building in order to create new social services: Center for Public Support (CPS) with capacity for up to 100 places (and with 4 for emergency accommodation) and a Daycare support center for children with heavy multiple disabilities and their families, with a capacity of up to 30 places for day care 60 places for consultative services. The building of the infrastructure for providing social services is in accordance with the National strategy “Vision for deinstitutionalization of the children in the Republic of Bulgaria” and Updated plan for its implementation. The project improves the awareness of social inclusion of children and youth with disabilities, currently leaving specialized institutions and securing an opportunity to take in a child or a family at risk. After completing the implementation of the project, the services, provided in the newly repaired infrastructure will be supplied by Vratsa Municipality. The number of the personnel in the new social services will be all according to the methodical instructions of the Social support agency. There will be 32 new working places. The team will include a manager, social workers, psychologists, labor therapists, speech therapists, rehabilitators and general staff. In order to acquire sustainability of the new social services the Municipality will apply with a project under Operative programme “Development of the human resources” and after this will take action to make the activities delegated by the state.
