The project proposal aims to improve the quality of life and opportunities for social inclusion of mentally retarded people by providing a network of residential and community support services and building appropriate (physical and staff) capacity to provide them. The planned activities include building and equipping the facilities provided for in the Community Support Services Card and the Resident Services Card for the establishment of new social services on the territory of Shumen Municipality, namely two Centers for Care of Persons with Mental Disabilities. The project also provides for the provision of appropriate furniture and equipment for social services, which will ensure a safe and secure environment for the users. It is fully in line with the horizontal principle of the European Union to improve access for people with disabilities and equal opportunities and will help to achieve the objectives set out in sectoral policy papers in the field of social policy as well as in the field of deinstitutionalization of the care for people with disabilities. disabilities.
