"Regional Historical Museum - GABROVO - KNOWLEDGE, PARTICIPATION, EXPERIENCE"

The Regional Historical Museum - Gabrovo (RIM-Gabrovo) is one of the oldest cultural institutions in Gabrovo - a direct successor to the museum created in 1883 at the Aprilovska High School. The building, which houses RIM-Gabrovo, is classified as architectural, construction and historical real estate of modern times, with a category of "national importance" by Order of the Ministry of Culture. RIM-Gabrovo also houses the Dechkov House - a real cultural value with a category of "local importance", in which a permanent exhibition "City Life from the end of the 19th to the 1940s" of RIM-Gabrovo was organized. The current project covers a complex of investment and marketing activities aimed at the development of RIM-Gabrovo and Dechkova House, diversification of the tourist product and their transformation into museums, providing an opportunity for non-seasonal but permanent active cultural tourism. All activities planned within the project implementation are aimed directly at overcoming the challenges to the sustainable development of RIM-Gabrovo and Dechkova House, related to the need for the preservation, conservation and restoration of the RIM-Gabrovo building, in its capacity as an object of cultural heritage - real cultural value of category "national importance", as well as caused by the inefficient utilization of its areas, the lack of modern conditions and equipment for the purpose of diversification of the tourism product and modernization of the exposition approach and concept, the lack of effective interactive information tools and programs with the potential to attract more porous, or gelatinous audiences, including and disadvantaged people, as well as lack of recreational facilities. The project encompasses a complete solution, both for the purposes of the conservation and preservation of the building of RIM-Gabrovo , as well as for the effective promotion of the Museum and the Dechkov House to it.
