UMT LLC. was established in 2006 in the Town of Kazanlak. The initial business activity revolved around trade - import from Russia and the Ukraine of construction and instrumental steel and export to Russia and the countries from the former Soviet Union of machines and cutting tools. In 2010 UMT LLC. started its own production and the activity transformed from trading to predominantly manufacturing. At present UMT LLC. is the only producer in Bulgaria of solid carbide cutting tools. With this project the company will implement a product innovation - a world novelty: solid carbide deep-hole drill, which is a tool for metal drilling machines. The following activity will be executed under the project: 1. Acquisition of new equipment, required for the implementation of the innovative product. The activity will be fulfilled through the purchase of: - External cylindrical grinding machine; - CNC grinding machine with grinding wheel changer; - Polishing machine; - 3D measurement system; These machines will ensure the full technical feasibility of the project by completing the existing technical base of the enterprise, so that the full capacity be provided, needed to start serial production of the drill and its subsequent market realization. The drill represents a significantly improved product in comparison to the world analogues, which combines four unique features of which only one owned by a close analog. It falls under the thematic area "Mechatronics and clean technologies" of ISIS and has the following advantages over the globally competitive products: radical reduction of the prime cost of a specific operation performed by the client, increased productivity and top quality of the holes during the use of the tool. These product advantages will lead to market advantages for UMT and will enhance the company's competitiveness through increased sales and expansion of the markets in Bulgaria, Russia, France and Germany.
