Launching of production of innovative product - whole-grain biscuits, with added groats and seeds

This project proposal provides for the launching of innovative product - whole-grain biscuits with wheat meal and added seeds, in the production process of the Applicant - Dobrudzanski hlyab S.A.The main ingredients of the product shall comprise as follows: flour blends of varying weight percentages: whole-grain Graham flour, wheat meal, rye flour, malt, rye leaven and other processing aids, as well as the options to add wheat germ, sesame seeds, poppy seed, sunflower seeds, soy beans, flax, oats, wheat sprouts, walnuts, pumpkin seed and flax seed: The combination of above ingredients in the manufacture of biscuits is an innovation in itself, protected by a Registration Certificate of Design/Utility model, under No.BG1749U/30/09/213. Also comprised in the scope of this project shall be the purchase of manufacturing equipment that will have the capacity to produce this innovative product - whole-grain biscuits with wheat meal and added seeds, as follows: - Combined production line for biscuits/crackers; - Mechanical COMBO machine (On edge amp; Pile pack)-3 pieces The new product will complement the portfolio of Dobrudzanski hlyab S.A. with health products, manufactured for the Bulgarian and European markets. Currently the Applicant is not into biscuit production. The product is expected to be marketed very well on the national market, and in the medium term - on the European market as well.The Company's market research demonstrates that the demand for products, made of specific Bulgarian ingredients such as wheat, rye, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and others, is extremely intense.The market for processed foods, especially processed healthy foods, such as "whole-grain" ones, is constantly evolving. Users consider the "quality and healthy" food types of particular importance.The innovation, subject of this project is comprised within the scope of Thematic area - 'Industry for healthy living and biotechnologies' of the Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization.
