Development of semantically enhanced archive for projects financed by EU donor programs on national and international level

Infinitus R and D Ltd is a newly-established company providing consulting, development and management services for projects funded by EU donor programs. Exploring the need to optimize the processes for project data collection and analysis, the company founders identified a vacant market niche for offering complete and structured information on implemented, approved and rejected projects for EU grant funding. Following this, the company formed a multidisciplinary team to create a new product – a library archive with analytic module for projects funded through EU grant instruments (BIARA). The team members are experts with extensive experience in the fields of economic analysis, legal matters, librarian sciences and information technologies with participation as key experts in a number of innovative projects, incl. projects financed under the EU Seventh Framework Programme. BIARA classifies as a world-class innovation as it will offer a qualitatively new type of library - an indexed, semantically enhanced, digital archive with options for applying the concepts of object hierarchy, elastic search, automatic profiling and graphic visualization of relevant information from heterogeneous sources. From this aspect the project falls under the “New Technologies in the Creative and Recreative Industries” thematic field of ISIS as it offers an innovation for the library/archiving practices. The project implementation envisages the employment of 6 experts to develop the product architecture, explore potential information sources, define the methods for extracting, structuring and analyzing relevant data and prototype the end product (TRL 7). The project will be carried out in the town of Pleven, where an office will be rented and the equipment required for the R and D activities will be installed. The estimated project value is BGN 420 616.
