Development of innovative service in the field of language technologies

This project proposal is aimed at developing an innovative software service for in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis of information from multiple sources in real time. The project will be implemented in partnership with the Institute of Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The proposed innovation falls under the thematic area "ICT and Informatics" from the Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization in the Language Technology Division. The innovative service will allow high degree of automation in categorizing and encoding the texts being processed, will be web-based, which is a great convenience to users and will provide real-time connectivity with the source of information so that when changes are made in the main source, those changes will reflect in the analysis and the results of the analysis. The service is intended for business users, users in the field of education, governmental and non-governmental organizations (mainly environmental organizations for which the service will be provided free of charge). The main costs associated with project implementation and innovation development are related to the recruitment of 8 qualified experts who will be responsible for the development process, purchase of software for functional testing, server rental, and outsourcing part of the development related to the visualization environment. The category of research under the project falls under the "industrial research" mode and the level of technological readiness of the service at the end of the project will be TRL6. The project proposal will build on the scientific achievements achieved as a result of a project run by the candidate and partner of the EU Framework Programme for Competitiveness and Innovation (2007-2013).
