This project proposal is directed to development of a product innovation: An open platform eTOP for development of user applications for the „Internet of Things“ (IoT). The aim of the eTOP for IoT is to provide a working environment that unites (connects) various telecommunication standards and protocols for communication among the systems and it enables development of new applications for users in the field of the “Internet of Things” in an easy, flexible and effective manner. The main target groups to which our project proposal is aimed are: A). telecommunication operators; B). mobile telecoms; C). computing centres and providers of cloud services; D). developers of management systems, as all of them have trained engineering staff who are able to develop software applications, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, telecommunication structures in general have a highly developed communication and transfer network that will enhance use of the applications for the „Internet of Things“ in each geographic spot the customer demands. The end beneficiaries of the innovation proposed by us are actually all sectors of economy, as well as the households of the “smart home” type where through automation of processes enormous economies can be realized in the used resources can be realized (electricity, water supply, transport, agriculture, etc.). This project proposal will enable substantial expansion and upgrade of the working framework based on the idea of the eTOP, and which project proposal was awarded the Seal of Excellence Certificate under the Horizon 2020 Programme in 2015. In this way, the proposed innovation will meet the current trends in development of the ICT by adding a serious volume of opportunities for connection and management of IoT systems and standards which will considerably extend the scope of the platform and will increase its competitiveness and competitive advantages on the market.
