DEVELOPMENT OF A COLLET FIXTURE WITH ELECTRONIC CLAMPING FORCE READING

RG GROUP AD is a company with depth of experience in the field of engineering activities. As a result of the experience accumulated by the company comes also the development - subject of this project: DEVELOPMENT OF A COLLET FIXTURE WITH ELECTRONIC CLAMPING FORCE READING that is focused on the machine-building industry and manufacturing of components and accessories for metal-working machinery; Through the activities and the industrial researches envisaged will an innovative product will be developed that falls into the Priority Area "Engineering, Reengineering and Extending the Life Cycles of the Industrial Machinery, Devices and Systems" within the thematic area of IS3: "Mechatronics and Clean Technologies" and corresponds to the objectives of the Priority Axis 1 Technological Development and Innovation, to synchronize the effort in the sphere of the economic development, scientific researches and innovations and strengthening the links between the science and business. The device is a mechatronic device for fixing and tightening a workpiece with complex geometry to provide electronic reading of the clamping force applied to it.The advantage of this innovation is the design and use of an eccentric spindle thanks to which the clamping of workpieces is performed manually without the need to apply compressed air or hydraulics. This allows to simplify the design of the device and reduce the production costs. The use of sensors for clamping force reading ensures the accurate control of the clamping force, thus allowing for gripping thin-walled workpieces without the risk of damage. On the basis of the comparative analysis we can clearly state that the device is a novelty on the world and European market and outperforms the available alternative solutions. The project implementation is expected to result in improvement of the competitiveness of RG Group AD, as a company developing product innovations within the thematic areas of IS3 -Mechatronics and Clean Technologies
