Innovation Product Development - Device for rehabilitation of hand movement and stimulation of cognitive processes

This project envisages the implementation of "industrial research" for the acquisition of new knowledge and the development of an innovative medical device. At this point, the core of the TEAM under this project has formed basic principles for applied technology (developed at the TRL 1 technological level). In this respect, the project activities start from "conceptual design" level - TRL 1 "Formulated Core Principles of Technology". Activities for reaching and completing the "Experimental Model" stage are included - TRL 6 - Technology demonstrated in the relevant environment. The ultimate goal of all planned activities in the design stages is a DEFINITIVE DEVELOPMENT of an efficient and safe design, consistent with the results of the implementation of the research part (the initial stages of the project). These studies should provide adequate information for designers involved in effective and safe rehabilitation of patients - mainly children with cerebral palsy. Within this project it is envisaged to study the influence of structure, geometric shape and dimensions, light and sound radiations, as well as acting forces when using the innovative product not only on the improvement of the condition, but also on the safety of the persons undergoing rehabilitation . Based on the analysis of the results of the study of appropriate prototypes combining adequate elements and regulated impact forces, one or more optimal constructions of a device for rehabilitation of hand movement and stimulation of cognitive processes are determined. Together with these basic tasks, the Project Team will also achieve specific environmental objectives that comply with the current environmental standards. The project will be fully implemented by the company - the team defined here. An external assignment is provided for only one very specific activity related to the requirements and the order for the implementation of the European harmonized legislation.
