System for monitoring of vital signs during sleep – “SENTEXSYS”

The project proposal includes the development of new innovative product - System for monitoring of vital parameters during sleep with the working title SENTEXSYS (Sensory Textile System). A basic element of the system is a specialized textile cover for mattresses. Its realization will represent- a set of capacitive sensors, staggered and positioned on top of the mattress,i.e. covering the area of the torso. Specialized electronic system will register the pressure on each sensor by measuring the change in capacity. The data will be processed and will be periodically transferred wirelessly(GSM) to the end user- the doctor, relative, specialized center, etc. The system will also allow sending alarm in potentially dangerous conditions. The prototype of the system will be provided with sensors of a conductive rubber or canvas carbonate, which are sewn onto a textile base. In the final version of the system, the electrodes are printed on a textile basis through a printer purchased with funds from the project, working with conductive inks with nanoparticles. Cloth cover with sensors will be packed in a waterproof, antibacterial zipper so that it is protected sensor part and to allow periodic removal and cleaning(washing) of the case. Applications: - Registration of breathing - Registration of movement during sleep - Registering a heart rate - Registering trend - hours spent in the supine position, emergencies related to lack of event - going to bed or getting out for an extended period of time. The goal of development is reaching the level of TRL 7- prototype, demonstrated in the operating environment. The research task will be performed by highly qualified specialists in the field of medical,ICT,engineering and technical sciences. The mission of the Midela Ltd. is to create an innovative health product with a social focus for the prevention of risk situations during sleep, to ensure a secure, personalized health information, better quality and healthy way of living.
