Development of educational computer application in the area of machine building which uses virtual reality

This project is aimed at developing a product innovation–an innovative educational computer application which uses virtual reality. The application will provide an innovative educational service in the field of machine building and the innovation will be developed in partnership between MOS Consult Ltd. and the partner of the company:Technical University-Varna. The product innovation that will be developed as a result of this project is an industrial research innovation within the thematic area "New Technologies in Creative and Recreational Industries", direction "Educational Computer and Mobile Applications" from the Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization. The innovative features of the new product are: 1)interaction with elements that exist only in virtual reality; 2) personalization according to the needs of the user; 3)opportunity for quality self-learning without a trainer and thus providing learning that is not influenced by the trainer's qualification and experience; 4)transformation of the user from a passive observer of the classical e-learning into a proactive person who finds solutions to engineering problems by using his/her creativity. For proper implementation of the project and development of the innovation, the following cost have been planned: remuneration costs for the staff that is directly involved in the innovation development activities, depreciation costs of the applicant's own equipment for the time of the project implementation, acquisition of tangible and intangible fixed assets that are needed for the development of the innovation. During the 24-month period of the joint development of the innovative product the following activities will be implemented: research, testing, measurements, creation of a prototype and its testing (beta version of the computer application). At the end of the project there will be a developed innovation at technology readiness level 6-technology (beta version) demonstrated in a relevant environment.
