Improving the production capacity and increasing the export potential of ‘MAK’ Plc. – town of Gabrovo

MAK Plc. – Gabrovo is one of the oldest textile factories in Bulgaria. The company specializes in the production and delivery of military, police, firefighters’ uniforms and equipment. Having full equipment, knowledge and experience in weaving, finishing and production of ready- to- wear clothing, MAK Plc is a leader in this part of Europe in the manufacture of military graded products. The company has a full production line for preparation, weaving and finishing of all types of textile fabric: - Cotton and cotton type fabric; - Double and triple layered fabrics with breathable membrane; - Reflecting fabrics according to standard EN – 471; - Antistatic fabrics according to standard EN 1149, parts 1 and 3 and EN 61340/5-1, of cotton/ polyester blend with metal fibers or cotton/ polyester/ carbon, tested and approved by the German Institute STFI, made through nano technology; - Antibacterial fabrics Bioactive consisting of cotton/ polyester with silver ions inserted in the tread through nano technology; - Ballistic polyamide fabrics with high sturdiness; - Meta- aramid fabric type Nomex; - Para- aramid fabric type Kevlar; Thanks to the extensive research and development, the company possesses a complete production line for various clothes and equipment: military, police, firefighters’ and security guards’ uniforms; all types work wear, ballistic vests, tactical vests, sleeping bags, rainproof suits. The main disadvantage of MAK Plc is the fully- loaded production capacity and also some obsolete equipment with low production characteristics. The production capacity of the company relying on the existing equipment is exhausted and the possibilities to widen the range and to meet the demand for quality fabrics both on the Bulgarian and foreign markets are reduced. In order to resolve these limitations the company will deliver and put into exploitation 14 modern highly- productive weaving looms.
