Investment in the utilization of higher quantities residual lubricants as raw material for the production of motor and industrial lubricants

Established in 1996, Lubrica Ltd. is nowadays one of the leading Bulgarian manufacturers of motor, industrial and special lubricants with a product range of over 150 lubricants. Lubrica Ltd. is the largest regenerator of waste (used and disposed) lubricants in Bulgaria. The process of waste lubricants’ recycling (dangerous waste) represents the core of the manufacturing process as a way of obtaining transitional raw material–basic lubricants for the end production of motor and industrial lubricants. The manufacturing process of transforming waste into a new product is performed in a complex of installations whose capacity has been expanding during the years and reaches up to 30 tons per year. The company sells its production in Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Macedonia. Under this project one tangible asset will be purchased – waste lubricants preliminary treatment installation (PTI). It represents a completely new solution for high-quality, effective initial treatment of the raw material – waste lubricants. By means of this installation, the following activities will be implemented: 1. Activity on improvement of manufacturing processes 2. Activity on introduction of new technologies to improve the resource effectiveness and efficiency of the manufacturing process. By introducing the new installation at the beginning of the process, not only will the stage of initial purification be rationalized and optimized, but also all other stages of the manufacturing process, which will increase the production capacity (project purpose). The significantly increased capacity /through this investment/ will satisfy the growing export demand by expanded production of high quality lubricants within shorter deadlines. I.e. the project will strengthen the export potential (project purpose) and will support the increase in export revenue. Both applicant’s main activity and the project fall completely in the thematic area Mechatronics and Clean Technologies of ISIS.
