Improving production capacity in „Vega 03“ Ltd.

VEGA 03 LTD. was founded in 2003. The company’s main business activity is related to the production of ferrous and non-ferrous metal spare parts, blanks and parts by casting and subsequent machining. Activities are carried out in the company’s own premises located in the Western Industrial Zone of the town of Vratsa. The production process of VEGA 03 Ltd. is separated in two main stages: • Casting of ferrous and non-ferrous metal blanks; • Final machining - subsequent mechanical cleaning, drilling, milling, threading, polishing. The final products manufactured by the company are a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metal blanks, components and complex assemblies; mostly sliding bearings, annular gears, plates, covers. The product policy of VEGA 03 is entirely based on individual orders and the clients’ requirements and terms of reference. The main challenges the company currently faces are associated with the lower production capacity of the mechanical workshop in which post-processing of parts and work pieces after their casting takes place. The mechanical workshop’s capacity is inadequate – it takes on only 30% of the capacity of the foundry. The realization of this project will greatly contribute to solving the identified problems because the purchase and integration of new, modern and highly productive equipment will lead to increased capacity of the mechanical workshop and hence increased capacity of the entire enterprise by 50%. The following equipment is planned to be purchased: 1. CNC lathe - 1 pc.; 2. CNC 3-axis machining center - 1 pc.; Project activities include a procurement procedure (to be carried out in accordance with the procedure described in the Guidance for Grant Contracts financed under OP “Innovations and Competitiveness” 2014-2020 and CM Decree No. 118 / 20.05.2014), delivery, installation and commissioning of the equipment. Total value of the investment is BGN 753 718,21 VAT excluded. Planned project duration is 18 months.
