Technological modernization for increasing the production capacity and export potential of Semkov-2001Ltd.

The company Semkov-2001 Ltd was established in 2001 in the village of Beli Izvor as the successor of the Repair Mechanical House (RMH) and the Electrical Repair House (ERH) of Holcim Bulgaria AD. The company’s activity is mainly focused on the single and small-scale serial production and repair and recovery works. Over its long presence on the Bulgarian market, the company has reinforced its positions and has built a reputation of a correct partner to its clients. The company’s development has led to the solution of one type of problems and the arising of new ones, and its main difficulty is the use of machines that require a lot of mechanical labour, since the processing, bending and lathing of metal elements are not automated. This is a serious limitation for the company’s development and makes it necessary for it to improve its technological level and maintain the high quality of the products and services offered. The specific instrument for reaching these objectives is investment in high-tech specialized machines to improve the level of technological equipment and optimize the production process. Such an investment would be the purchase of a hydraulic 4-shaft machine for bending metal sheets, a CNC hydraulic folding press and a lathe. In particular, through the successful implementation of this project the company expects to achieve the following results: ∙ Increasing the company’s production capacity by 70%; ∙ Automation and optimization of the production processes; ∙ Higher productivity due to the elimination of manual labour; ∙ Improving the quality of the products and services offered; ∙ Shortening process time by 50%; ∙ Technological possibilities for diversifying the product portfolio and commencing export; ∙ Minimizing the risk of human errors in the work processes.
