Increasing competitiveness, production capacity and export potential of OMELIA Ltd

The project proposal of OMELIA Ltd is related to the implementation of activities improving the production processes; adding new features and improvements to existing products; introduction of new technologies aiming to improve resource efficiency and effectiveness in the production process. Implementing the activities will include suppliers’ choice, purchasing, delivery and commissioning of new automated technological equipment for the garment industry. The necessity for implementation of the project stems from the lack of sufficient production capacity for a greater number and volume of orders, the use of outdated technologies and equipment that require high labour intensity of the operations, higher production costs, thus the required quality, precision and robustness of the products cannot be achieved. Despite the company investments for production improvements there are still inefficient processes in detail cutting, pasting pockets, reflex tapes, making embroideries and functional buttonholes that, using the existing equipment, require a high percentage of manual labour and repeatability, lead to lower productivity, defects and lower results in the production chain. Most of the current equipment in the company is used for light fabrics and the market demand requires producing working and protective clothing made out of thicker fabrics. The existing machines often interrupt the production processes; maintenance happens almost on a daily basis and disrupts production. The project investment will result in automated adequate for the purposes and activities of the company's technological equipment; it will improve the production process and optimize the production chain as well as increase the manufacturing capacity and productivity and decrease the costs, the execution deadlines and the production cost. This will enable OMELIA Ltd to expand production and market positions.
