Improving the production process and resources effectiveness in CARBONI Ltd

The project activities are related to improving the resources effectiveness and efficiency in the production process of Carboni Ltd as well as with improving the company’s production process itself. The project proposal includes the purchase and installation of the following new assets: - Software for 3-dimensional design and simulation for the machine-building sector - CNC cutting machine - Crane - Bandsawing cutting machine The software will replace the currently used two-dimensional models for design in which the calculation of the used materials /mainly different kinds of steel/ is sub-optimal. In addition, these models require the use of less effective manual machines for the production of the designed details. Through the implementation of the software and thanks to its functionalities, the company will be able to optimize the use of materials, and this will lead to a 40% decrease of used resources, 12 % lower cost and will reduce the labor intensity of processing the details with around 10%, because the details will switch from manual to automated production. The CNC cutting machine will allow reducing the production time of the machines, which the company manufactures, which will lead to higher sales and an increased export capacity. It will also lead to use of 20-30% steel wastage, which remains at the outsourcing party in the process of cutting the steel sheets. The crane will replace the currently used ineffective excavator for lifting the heaving elements in assembling the machines and will serve the CNC cutting machine and the bandsawing cutting machine. The bandsawing cutting machine will reduce the production time and will improve the quality of the produced and used details which will reflect in generating higher sales and an increased export capacity. It will give an opportunity for a larger choice of suppliers of steel and for use of higher quality steel.
