Enhancing the capacity for the production of transformers with low losses through a new production line for precise cutting of electrical steel sheet

The project is an important element of consistently realized long-term strategy to increase its competitiveness by acquiring the latest technology in the production of transformers and to create conditions for the global market a wide range of products with improved technical characteristics, performance and efficiency. This project upgrades the introduced in 2014 significantly improved (innovative) process for the production of energy-efficient oil-immersed transformers in compliance with the minimum requirements of the EC eco-design of energy products. Part of the technical environment for the development and serial production of oil-immersed transformers complying with the Directive 2009/125 /EC is set-up, but still with limiited ability to mass production of oil-immersed transformers complying with the Regulation (EC) № 548/2014 implementing the Directive in its part to reduce the levels of maximum losses in transformers. With the implementation of the project the full readiness to meet the growing demand in Europe for transformers with low losses will be achieved .This will be done through the activity "Supply, installation and initiation of the line for precise cutting of blades from electrical sheets for transformer cores, enabling their blending by the STEP - LAP technology". After the completion of this activity the plant will be able to cut blades of steel with thickness, structure and precision required for mixing the magnetic cores for transformers with low losses, which at the moment is not enough effective. The result - improved diversity of the production and increased sales, share of exports, energy performance and resource efficiency. The project will be realized in 14 months, in a new production site in the town of Berkovitza, where two new job positions for highly skilled operators will be opened.
